Radio Chu FM is Nurzhan’s Russian-language music station: pop by day, chanson at night, IradOne news in Russian on the hour, and Gorod, where the city does the talking.
History
- 2001At 7 a.m. on 1 September Chu FM goes on air on 104.5 FM from a studio on the top floor of the House of the Press. The station was founded by radio-relay engineer Gleb Kalinin; the company was Radio Chu LLC.
- 2003First live edition of Gorod.
- 2004Radio Chu LLC buys Vecherniy Nurzhan from its staff shareholders and becomes Nurzhan Press House.
- 2005First Chu-20 chart.
- 2015New site on the press house domain, radio.vnurzhan.com. The old chufm.ir.ad site is no longer updated.
- 2016The online stream starts.
- 2026Chu FM turns 25.
